The St. John School of the Arts will present a jazz concert featuring Victor Provost, Alex Brown, and Warren Wolf on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

This will be the eighth time that steelpan virtuoso Victor Provost and Grammy award-winning pianist Alex Brown have performed as part of the Sis Frank Concert Series at the school’s intimate Cruz Bay performance space. This year, they will be joined by special guest Warren Wolf on vibraphone and other instruments.

The concert will feature music by Ernest Lecuona, Gustav Mahler, Chick Corea, Paul McCartney, Hermeto Pascoal, Provost, and Wolf.

Tickets are $50 and are available by clicking the Events tab on the St. John School of the Arts’ website

A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.

The St. John School of the Arts is inviting concertgoers to “Dine with the Stars” and meet the performers during a special prix fixe dinner following the concert at the St. John Speakeasy. Tickets are $85 and must be purchased in advance through the school. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the school.

“Born and raised on the island of St. John, Virgin Islands, Victor Provost is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading voices on the unique, and often misunderstood, steelpan,” according to his website. “Through appearances at concert halls, clubs, and stages throughout the world, he has developed a reputation as a ‘dazzling’ soloist, crafting an impressive improvisational voice and style. With a strong foundation in Bebop, a contemporary sensibility, and deep roots in Caribbean music, he seamlessly melds and mixes genres.” Learn more about Provost at https://www.victorprovost.com.
