The Virgin Islands Economic Development Commission (VIEDC) Board will hear presentations from representatives of two businesses: a healthcare management company and a hotel on St. Thomas.
Kamal I. Latham, CEO of the U.S. Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (USVIEDA), announces the following:
Governing Board Decision Meeting: All interested persons are notified that in accordance with Virgin Islands law, a Governing Board Decision Meeting will be held for the VIEDC, a subsidiary entity of the USVIEDA, on applications and/or compliance matters.
This meeting will be conducted at 9 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 16, via videoconference feed between 8000 Nisky Shopping Center, 2nd floor., Suite No. 620, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands 00802; and No. 116 King Street, Frederiksted, St. Croix, VI 00841.
Be advised that the USVIEDA Board of Directors and its subsidiary board(s) may go into executive session with respect to any decision at any time during the meeting as provided by Virgin Islands law.
Public Hearing to Show Cause: All interested persons are notified that the VIEDC will be holding a public hearing at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 16, for certain entities to show cause why tax exemption benefits should not be revoked, suspended or modified for alleged violations of their VIEDC Certificate in accordance with Virgin Island law.
This hearing will be held for the following two businesses at the same locations as the Governing Board Decision Meeting:
