The Virgin Islands Fire Service advises the public that the ban on burning in the territory has been lifted.

“Recent rainfall has improved conditions and reduced the risk associated with outdoor burning, so we have lifted the burn ban until further notice,” said Director Daryl A. George.

Applications for burn permits are now available at the Fire Service’s administrative offices.

The public is reminded that a valid permit is required for all burning.

Residents and businesses may contact the Arson Prevention and Investigation Unit at 773-8050 or 774-7610 for additional information.
