Update: Dunia Rodriguez Wanted In Connection With An Assault Now in Custody

A St. John woman who was wanted in connection with an assault has turned herself into the authorities, the V.I. Police Department reported.

On July 1, around 5:34 p.m., a woman stated that while she was at Hansen Bay Beach on St. John, she was approached by another woman who began to tell and curse at her. The woman was identified as Dunia Rodriguez, according to the police report.

Rodriguez then threw the woman on the ground and began a physical fight with her. The victim attempted to defend herself, at which point Rodriguez broke the victim’s arm, the police report stated.

On Thursday, at about 12:00 p.m., Rodriguez, 57, turned herself in at the Richard N. Callwood Command. She was advised of her rights, booked, and processed. She was charged with assault in the third degree, simple assault, disturbance of the peace, and assault with bodily fluid. Her bail was set at $25,000, the report stated.

A St. John woman has been reported wanted in connection with an assault, the V.I. Police Department reported Thursday.

Dunia Rodriguez, 57, is a Hispanic woman originally from Cuba and resides in Hansen Bay, St. John. She is 5’2 and weighs 165 lbs. No further information was provided at this time.
