The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (WAPA or Authority) will host a career fair on St. Thomas for individuals interested in a line worker career with WAPA. The fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 4, at WAPA’s new line department headquarters located behind Market Square East’s movie theater.

Line workers construct and maintain the electric transmission and distribution facilities that deliver electrical energy to industrial, commercial and residential establishments. Line workers are also responsible for the installation, servicing and emergency repairs to electrical lines.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about WAPA’s line department and apply on-site for full-time and apprenticeship positions for both St. Thomas and St. John. Senior members of the

line department will also be present to share their experience and provide insight on current and upcoming Authority projects.

The Authority encourages all interested persons to take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about an exciting and rewarding career path to serve the Virgin Islands community.
