William Cherubin Sr.

William Cherubin Sr., also known as “Pops” or “Chief,” of Estate Stoney Ground, died on April 17. He was 79 years old. (Dec. 1, 1943 to April 17, 2023)

He was preceded in death by her mother, Elfrida “Elvira” Cherubin; father, Baquel Duman; and sisters: Cynthia Daniel and Ena Laurencin.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila Paula Cherubin; daughter, Wynella Cherubin (Nene); sons: Ernie Cherubin, Wayne Cherubin, William Cherubin Jr. “Baby Bro” and Wyllan Cherubin; daughters-in-law: Marsha Cherubin, Julia Ceherubin, Jiomyra Balboa Perez and Raydiance Cherubin; and grandchildren: Nadege Cherubin, Neevta Cherubin, Nevin Cherubin, Jelani Cherubin, Wayne Cherubin Jr., Jaden Cherubin, Johansel Minaya Balburne, Nhye Griffin, Nhalia Griffin, Nhela Griffin, Chaze Griffin, Nolan Cherubin and Nubia Cherubin.

He is also survived by sisters: Eveline Wilson, Joycelyn Daniel, Beverly Lubin, Sheila Duman Fahie and Jennifer Mathurin; brothers: Nathaniel Daniel and Noel Daniel; sisters-in-law: Maria Delores Cherubin and Delores Daniel; brothers-in-law: Ralph Laurencin, Martin Wilson, Jonah Lubin, Linus Mathurin and Clyde Fahie; 34 nieces and nephews: special family and friends: and special family and friends: Canaii family, Odlum family, the Griffin family, Sister Pearl Purcell and family, and Kafi Armstrong and family.

The viewing will take place at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 8, at Faith Seventh-day Adventist Church. Interment will be at Frederiksted Cemetery.
