On Saturday, March 5, 2022, several search warrants regarding a reckless endangerment report in Estate Whim on St. Croix from February were executed by members of the Criminal Investigation and Special Operation. On Feb. 20, 2022, an occupied residence was shot up with a high-power rifle by and under the direction of Rusiel Encarnacion.
Encarnacion’s girlfriend’s home and vehicle were searched. During the search, a 40-caliber ghost gun was discovered in her car. Ms. Lopez, 38, was arrested and charged with carrying a firearm openly or concealed and possession of ammunition.
Lopez was advised of her rights and processed. Her bail was set at $50,000, and she could not post bail. She was remanded to the John Bell Correctional Facility pending her Advice of Rights Hearing on Monday 7, 2022, at 9:00 am at the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands.
Encarnacion is wanted for attempted murder in the 1st-degree, carrying a firearm openly or concealed, unauthorized possession of ammunition, discharging or aiming a firearm, and reckless endangerment.
Rusiel Encarnacion is a 46-year-old Hispanic male about 220 lbs. and 5’5″ tall. He is heavily tattooed all over his body and face and is currently at large.
