YWCA’s Youth Get Fit Day 2019 Set for February 23

Youth Get Fit Day — Building Youth Resiliency

The members and coordinators of YWCA USVI Inc. — Y-TEENS VI and GIRLS ON THE GO Inc. groups invite all youth, aged 7-18 years old, in the St. Thomas and St. John District to the annual Youth Get Fit Day Health and Wellness Fun Day. It will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 23, organized exclusively for children and youth. The YWCA is back at the University of the Virgin Islands in the UVI Club House, courts and field area next to the Herman E. Moore Golf Course.

Come join in for a day of tennis, basketball, soccer, sack races, outdoor games, dance, martial arts, obstacle courses as well as several engaging health and wellness workshops. There will be healthy snack preparation with Julius “The Chef” Jackson, and several health and wellness mini workshops and special events. There will also be a special panel discussion headed by Dwayne K. Maduro and featuring other young V.I. sports figures, who will showcase their sport of choice.

Throughout the day, there will be music, face painting, breakfast snacks, fresh fruits and lunch. Free swag will be provided to registered participants. The registration fee is $5 per child/youth. Registration sponsorship is available on an as-needed-basis.
