14th Annual Vento Shakespeare Festival Set for April 12

The Vento Shakespeare Festival on April 12, 2019

For the 14th year, students and faculty from St. Thomas and St. Croix gather at the Nisky Center Moravian Church to recreate scenes from some of William Shakespeare’s most memorable plays. The public is invited to this year’s festival, which is overseen by Shakespearean scholar Pamela New with the assistance of Julie Baber.

The festival will take place at 9 a.m., Friday, April 12, at the Nisky Moravian Church on St. Thomas. Tickets are free for children and $10 for adults, at the door.

This year’s participating schools include: Antilles School, Charlotte Amalie High School, Ivanna Eudora Kean High School, Lockhart Elementary, Nicky Moravian School, Tutu Church of God School, St. Croix Educational Complex High School, Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School and Seventh-day Adventist High School (2018 Top Champions).

Sponsors included the Vento Charitable Trust, Auven Therapeutics, Bolongo Bay Beach Resort, Emerald Beach Hotel, and the Virgin Islands Council on the Arts.
