17-Year-Old Arrested in Shooting Incident on St. Croix

A 17-year-old teen on St. Croix was arrested for assault and other charges in connection with an April shooting, the V.I. Police Department reported Sunday.

Kaden Christian Durand was arrested Friday in connection with an incident where the victim was shot and robbed at gunpoint on April 19 in the vicinity of Kmart Sunny Isles on St. Croix, according to the police report.

Durand was charged as an adult with assault, robbery, unauthorized possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, and grand larceny, the report stated.

Unable to post bail, Durand was transported to the John A. Bell Adult Correctional Facility where he was remanded pending his advice of rights hearing Monday at the Superior Court, police said.
