3 Hurt in 2 St. Croix Shootings

An 18-year-old man was nearly gunned down behind a relative’s Pepper Tree Hill house, according to the V.I. Police Department. It was one of two shootings in St. Croix Wednesday night.

A silver Acura TL with heavily tinted windows and no license plates started following the teen about 10:30 p.m., police said. Someone got out near the mailboxes on Strawberry Hill and started shooting. At least one of the five or more rounds struck the victim in the arm. He was treated at Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital.

About 45 minutes earlier, in the D. Hamilton Jackson Terrace area of Christiansted, a woman and a man were struck with bullets near Building 2. Police said the 27-year-old woman and 21-year-old man were in stable condition at the hospital Thursday. Police investigators found several shell casings and noted gunfire damage to the complex known as Red Brick as well as vehicles in the area.
