VIFS RESPONDS TO STRUCTURE FIRE AT THE BISTRO

ST. CROIX, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS- At approximately 9:02 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16, the Virgin Islands Fire Service was dispatched to a reported structure fire at The Bistro in Gallows Bay.

Units from both the Herbert L. Canegata Fire Station (Richmond) and the Renceliar I. Gibbs Fire Station (Cotton Valley) responded, and first arriving crews observed smoke coming from the establishment. Making entry, firefighters commenced offensive suppression operations and confined the flames to the kitchen area. Within 20 minutes, the fire was contained.

After crews fully extinguished the fire, the Arson Investigation and Prevention Unit was called to the scene. The unit’s investigation into the cause of the fire remains ongoing.
