The Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs will host a
series of three educational town halls on the Virgin Islands Laws regarding issuing tavern keeper liquor licenses and night club, cabaret, and tavern licensing categories. Town halls will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the following locations:

St. Croix: Monday, March 14, 2022, Sunny Isles Amphitheater

St. John: Tuesday, March 15, 2022, Franklin D. Powell Park

St. Thomas: Wednesday, March 16, 2022, Emancipation Garden Vendors Plaza

“There are requirements DLCA must abide by before issuing these license categories,” stated Commissioner Evangelista. “We find it necessary to educate on these limitations and requirements before an individual invests their hard-earned money leasing a property not permitted to conduct this type of business activity. It is important to find the most appropriate balance between economic activity and the quality of life for persons who reside adjacent or within proximity to establishments with a tavern keeper license.” DLCA is asking everyone affected to attend the town hall meeting.

DLCA has personally invited senators and key stakeholders to listen to the issues faced by the establishments with the current laws regarding tavern keeper licenses. The entire community is also invited to participate in this town hall.

The Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs appreciates the public’s cooperation. If you have a question, please feel free to contact the Office of the Commissioner on St. Croix at (340) 725-5129.
