Art Opening at Bajo el Sol Will Feature Gail Van de Bogurt and Deborah St. Clair

Bajo el Sol Gallery in Mongoose Junction is hosting an exciting art opening reception on Friday, February 4, from 5 to 8 p.m. featuring premiere artists Deborah St. Clair and Gail Van de Bogurt, who will both be displaying new work.
During her years on St. John, artist Van de Bogurt has become known primarily for her work in clay. Her functional and sculptural ceramics grace the homes of many private collectors. As a result of her exceptional talent, she has taken on a greater role as teacher as well as renowned ceramicist.
Works by Van de Bogurt.
St. Clair, a long-time resident of St. John, paints with both oil and encaustic. St. John, with its warm temperatures, great and ever-changing light, and energy provides a perfect setting for oil and encaustic painting. This show will explore the interesting parallel and connection between cave wall paintings and graffiti street art.
