Baldwin “Reco” Bryan peacefully departed this life on August 21, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on April 17, 1946, he lived a life filled with love, strength, wisdom, and devotion to his family and friends. Reco will be remembered for his warm spirit, kind heart, and the many lives he touched throughout the years.

He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Valorie Bryan; his beloved daughter, Amethyst Bryan Stewart; and his sons, Al Bryan, Andy Bryan, Charles Bryan, and Benjamin Bryan.
Reco was a proud and loving grandfather to Dwight Thomas Jr., Diamarrietta Copeland, Duanjhaé Stewart, Mikal Bryan, Zoey Bryan, Tye Bryan, Alishai Bryan, Alisha Bryan, Alaizah Bryan, Alanee Bryan, Eric Bryan, Micah Bryan, Jalen Bryan, Milan Bryan, Jacob Bryan, Shenika Bryan, Shequoi Bryan, Alante Bryan, Aaliyah Bryan and Amari Bryan. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren who brought him much joy: Na’Sir Burney, Amari Burney, Asiyah Long, Ava Long, Eren Long, Jordan Thompson, Hermoine Thompson, and Eliyas Bryan.
He is also survived by his brothers, Carlyle Bryan and Terance Bryan; and his sisters, Bernadine Huliger, Jacquiline LaRocque, and Angela Romney.
Reco’s memory will continue to live on through his cherished nieces: Leslie LaRocque, Lynuda LaRocque, Gem Huliger, Jessica Bryan, Lesa Romney, Gail Romney, and Jaz Romney; and his nephews: Jeffrey Bryan, Joshua Bryan, Josly Huliger, Josveek Huliger, Tarquin Huliger, Lenroy LaRocque, Loius LaRocque, Larry LaRocque, and Perry Romney.
He also leaves to mourn his passing his cousins, the Richardson family, the Webster family, and the Conner family; his in-laws, Ruth Decker, Jackie Bryan, Walton LaRocque, Derrick Romney, and Carl Stewart; as well as his special friends, Lunmus Baptiste, Leocadia Theophilus, and Anastia Rivers.
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Baldwin “Reco” Bryan will be held on Friday, May 15, at Divine Chapel, 129 Peter’s Rest, Christiansted, Virgin Islands 00820. The service will begin at 12 p.m.
