Coral Reef Academy

August 2024 will mark a pivotal moment for education on St. Thomas as Coral Reef Academy proudly opens its doors to students with autism by offering specialized education for grades K-4. This groundbreaking initiative aims to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment tailored to meet the unique needs of students on the autism spectrum.

Coral Reef Academy is committed to fostering holistic development, incorporating evidence-based practices, and creating a supportive community for both students and their families.

With a dedicated team of experienced educators and professionals, Coral Reef Academy strives to unlock the full potential of every student, promoting academic achievement, social skills and independence. The curriculum is designed to be engaging, adaptable and personalized to ensure that all the children receive the individualized attention they deserve.

Not only does the academy focus on academic excellence, it also emphasizes the importance of collaboration between educators, parents and the broader community. The school encourages an open dialogue, creating a network of support that extends beyond the classroom.

“We are thrilled to embark on this journey of providing quality education and support to students with autism,” said Dr. Jody Miller, director of Coral Reef Academy. Coral Reef Academy is more than a school; it’s a community where every child is valued, celebrated and empowered to reach his or her full potential.”

The academy has been supporting students on St. Croix since 2018. It is the first school in the Virgin Islands to offer specialized educational opportunities for students with autism, ADHD and other developmental disabilities. It welcomes families to join in this transformative educational experience. Enrollment for the upcoming academic year has begun.
