Crystal Francis-Jackson Dies in Florida

The Francis-Jackson family is saddened to announce the passing of Crystal Francis-Jackson, who passed away on Saturday, Nov. 6, at Saint Anthony’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla. She was 66 years old.

Crystal was born on the island of Antigua. At the age of 13, her family relocated to Frederiksted, St. Croix USVI. Shortly after graduating from St. Croix Central High School, she relocated to St. Petersburg, Fla. and remained there until her passing. Crystal was a retired medical assistant and dedicated her life to caring for the sick and elderly.

She is survived by her father, Glentis D. Francis; husband, Cyrus R. Jackson; daughter, Courtney Jackson; goddaughter, Carla Freeman; siblings: Eugenie N. Francis, Dean H. Francis (Pretty Singletary), Elva C. Schoonover (Scott), Cecelia C. Francis, Ira S. Francis and Carol-Ann L. Francis-Hendricks (Derick); sisters-in-law: Ellender Jackson and Vernita Jackson; and nephews: Michael David Francis (Tenaya), Imo Derek Ferdinand, Ira S. Francis Jr. and Isaiah Francis.

She is also survived by great-nephews: Kingston Ferdinand and Evren Francis; great niece, Autumn A. Ferdinand; uncles: David Isaac and Ivan Francis; aunts: Ernie Reynolds (Claude) and Lucia Isaac; a host of cousins; best friend/sister, Lottie Johnson; special friends: Bro. Wallace (Larry) Harris and Sis. Dorothea Patterson; the Christ Gospel Church family; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Avril Isaac Francis; aunts: Veronica (Sue) Andrew,  Shirley Glasgow, Idona Isaac, Naomi Isaac and Baffelle Francis Jeffrey; uncles: Milton Brown, Henry (Selvyn) Francis, Ernest E. (Geech) Grant, Carlton Isaac, Casper Isaac and Luther Isaac.

The first viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 19, at Smith Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 20, at Christ Gospel Church, St. Petersburg, Fla. Interment will be at Royal Palm Cemetery.
