Relatives and friends are advised of the passing of Cynthia Rosemary Hodge Weekes on July 17 at her residence in Smith Bay, St. Thomas, USVI, at the age of 89.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents: Henry and Elderina Hodge; husband, James Weekes; son, James Lyndon Weekes; sister, Salomie Hodge; brothers: Elliott, Ornald, Roy and William Hodge.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Weekes-Mike; son, Johnny Weekes Sr., special nephew, Gary Hodge; sisters: Christine Mussington and Monica Hodge (Anguilla) and Sylvia Richardson (Conn.); brothers: Henderson (Sam) Hodge and Derrick Hodge (St. Martin); and daughters-in-law: Sharmaine Smith-Weekes and Stephanie Demease-Weekes.
She is also survived by son-in-law, Franklin Mike; grandchildren: Jahneil Phillipus Sr., Jerome Francis, Jerrami Weekes, Jahquan Mike, Jahnisha Weekes, Johnny Weekes Jr., Jahnoi Weekes Sr. and Ja’nia Weekes; special friends: Ann Herman, Emily Wilkerson, Joycelyn Joseph, Alma Hermon and Lydia Blyden; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
The first viewing is scheduled at 4-6 p.m., Sept. 2, at Turnbull’s Funeral Home. The second viewing will take place at 9 a.m., Sept. 3, followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., at Westley Methodist Church. Burial is at the Western No. 1 Cemetery.
