Dec. 30th Campaign Disclosure Reports Are Due on Jan. 15

Elections System of the Virgin Islands

Supervisor of Elections Caroline F. Fawkes reminds candidates and political committees pursuant to Title 18, Virgin Islands Code, Section 905, of the December 30, 2020, Campaign Disclosure Report.

Fawkes said, “The Dec. 30, 2020, Disclosure Report must be submitted to the Office of the Supervisor of Elections no later than Friday, Jan. 15, 2021.”

Important note: If someone has closed his or her account, please submit the bank statement reflecting that fact and if there is under $500 left in the account during this reporting period, it is not necessary to submit a report, just a letter stating such.

Campaign Disclosure Reports can be dropped off at the St. Croix Elections Office, Main Sunny Isle Shopping Center (The old Movie Theatre area) and the St. Thomas-St. John, Lockhart Gardens Shopping Center, upstairs from Banco Popular. The operation hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Fawkes also said that, “failure to submit the campaign disclosure report by the deadline will result in candidates and political committees incurring fees.”

In addition, the supervisor said that any candidate interested in obtaining a Campaign Disclosure Report Filing Overview, should contact her at 773-1021.
