Starting Jan. 1, the UnitedHealthcare Group Medicare Advantage Plan will come with a new added benefit: Healthy Benefits Plus!

Starting Jan. 1, the UnitedHealthcare Group Medicare Advantage Plan will come with a new added benefit: Healthy Benefits Plus!

If a person is a U.S. Virgin Islands Government retiree over the age of 65, that person will receive a $40 quarterly allowance to spend on thousands of covered products, including healthy food and a wide range of over-the-counter products at participating retailers.

The retiree will receive a prepaid card in the mail, and credit will be automatically loaded onto it the first day of January, April, July and October. Unused credits will roll over to the next quarter, and all credits will expire on Dec. 31, 2023.

When using the prepaid card, remember to present it prior to checkout. A credit will be applied towards eligible healthy food and OTC products. If the total is more than the person’s available credit, that person will need to pay the balance due out of pocket.
