DOH to Host Health Fair in Celebration of Women’s History Month on March 18

The V.I. Department of Health (DOH) invites the public to participate in a special health fair in celebration of Women’s Health Month. The fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, March 18, in Frank Powell Park in Cruz Bay, St. John.

Women’s health services to be offered will include conversations and handouts on nutrition, breast feeding, mental wellness, family planning, HIV/STD testing, and biometric screening to help identify risk factors that signal existing disease or risk for diseases, such as high blood pressure and diabetes. There will also be a special yoga demonstration.

Participants will be treated to lots of giveaways, games, music, prizes and much more.

The Department of Health thanks the following participating groups: The Maternal and Child Health (MCH), Behavioral Health and Alcohol and Drug Dependency, Family Planning, Communicable Diseases, Women Infants and Children (WIC) Divisions of VIDOH, Virgin Islands Territorial Management Agency (VITEMA), Love City Strong, Island Health and Wellness, Family Resource Center, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Council (DVSAC), and Tropical Jewels of Perfection Chapter No. 100 (an entity of The Jerusalem Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star PHA Jurisdiction of Florida).
