The driver and passenger of a pump truck were found pinned inside the vehicle after it overturned in the area of Mandahl on St. Thomas, the V.I. Police Department reported.

On Monday, inspectors were dispatched at 9:57 a.m. to the area of Mandahl to investigate an overturned pump truck. The driver and passenger were both pinned inside the truck. The V.I. Fire and Emergency Medical Services, Emergencies Medical Services and St. Thomas Rescue were on the scene and extracted both the driver and the passenger out of the vehicle, according to the police report.

When officers arrived on scene, the driver and the front passenger were being attended to by EMS personnel, the police report stated.

The truck was traveling downhill when the operator lost control of the pump truck and the truck veered right, ran over a parked vehicle, flipped over, and traveled approximately 212 feet downhill into the ravine, the report stated.

Both the driver and passenger sustained injuries to their head and about their bodies and
