Early Voting in STTSTJ District Tentatively Set to Resume July 21

Early Voting continues in the St. Croix District for the Aug. 1, 2020, Primary Election. Supervisor of Elections Caroline Fawkes continues to encourage the public to take advantage of early voting. On St. Thomas and St. John, Early Voting was suspended on Friday, July 10, after the system learned that an individual conducting business at the St. Thomas office had tested positive for COVID-19.

The agency has taken all the necessary health and safety protocols with guidance from the Department of Health. All offices, including the Early Voting site at the Charlotte Amalie High School (Sprung Unit), have been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.

Early Voting is tentatively scheduled to resume on Tuesday, July 21, in the St. Thomas-St. John District. An official announcement will be made by Monday, July 20. Supervisor Fawkes is asking the public for continued patience and cooperation regarding the matter.  Additionally, she reminds the public they can request an Absentee Ballot by visiting the agency’s website at www.vivote.gov.  Absentee Ballot Applications can be faxed or emailed to the following numbers and email addresses:

The number of electors who have participated in Early Voting from July 16, 2020, to date is as follows: St. Croix 448, St. Thomas 227 and St. John 17 for a total territory-wide count of 692. Early Voting will conclude on Sunday, July 26.

Early Voting continues in the St. Croix District, including Saturday and Sunday. Early Voting hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Elections System Office located at Sunny Isle Annex, Unit 4.
