Elections System Explains How Students Can Be Eligible to Register to Vote

Supervisor of Elections Caroline F. Fawkes advises the community, particularly parents and principals, that students 17 ½ years of age are eligible to register to vote if they will be 18 years of age on or before Nov. 8. The last day of voter registration to participate in the 2022 General Election is Sunday, Oct. 9. The registration process is simple and very transparent. Office locations and regular hours are as follows:

St. Croix Elections Office, Sunny Isles Shopping Center Unit 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

St. Thomas Elections Office, Lockhart Gardens (Upstairs Banco Popular from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

St. John Elections Office, Market Place Suite II on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Extended Voter Registration Office Hours

Saturday, Oct.1, from 9 am to 3 p.m. on St. Croix and St. Thomas; on St. John, Franklin Powell Sr. Park, Cruz Bay

Wednesday, Oct. 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on St. Croix and St. Thomas

Thursday, Oct. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on St. Croix and St. Thomas; on St. John Office from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on St. Croix and St. Thomas

Saturday, Oct. 8, from 9 a.m. to noon on St. John, St. Thomas, and St. Croix

Sunday, Oct. 9, from noon to 3 p.m. on St. John, St. Thomas and St. Croix

Documents required to register to vote:

Birth Certificate or

Passport (United States) or

Military Discharge form (DD214) or

Naturalization Certificate.
