Services were held Friday, July 13, for Enid Francis, 73, of St. John, who died July 2, 2007, at the Myrah Keating Smith Community Health Center. Burial in the Calabash Boom Cemetery in Coral Bay followed the 9 a.m. funeral at the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Francis began her early life working as a nursing assistant at Knud Hansen Hospital taking care of mothers and infants. She became a homemaker when she took care of her family. She relocated to St. John, where she went to work for the V.I. government at the Estate Carolina Sewing Project. She worked at the Cinnamon Bay Campground, where her duties included taking care of visiting students from around the world.

She also worked with special children and enjoyed being an adoptive mother. Enid also worked at the Environmental Research Station, National Park Services, Cruz Bay Head Start and Housing, Parks and Recreation. She loved cooking, baking, fishing, gardening and traveling.

She is survived by her sons, Terrence, Buster, Marlon and Nicholas Brady and Lorenzo Liburd; daughters, LaVerne Matthias, Valencia Brady Benjamin and Darren and Lavina Brady; brother, Malcolm Francis; sisters, Helen Francis and Caroline Challenger; close friend,

Jane Johannes; 27 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a number of stepchildren and adopted children.
