Four Men Arrested on Island’s East End for Illegal Firearm and Drug Possession

The normally quiet East End of St. John was the hub of V.I. Police Department work last week.

VIPD officers on St. John arrested four men on the island’s East End on June 7 for Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

VIPD officers received a report of shots being fired in the Estate Hansen Bay neighborhood around 3 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, June 7. While investigating the report, officers arrested one suspect on a firearm charge and then found three other men hiding nearby who each had marijuana in their possession, according to police reports.

VIPD officers arrested Jerome Lake, 41, of Estate Anna’s Retreat at about 3:30 p.m. He faces a charge of Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm.

Police also arrested Glanville Frazer, 45, of Estate Enighed, Thomas Simon Jr., 26, of Estate Contant/Enighed and Roger Fleming, 24, of Estate Bellevue shortly before 8 p.m. and charged the men with Possession with Intent to Distribute.

Police drove out to the area responding to a call of shots fired near the beach in Estate Hansen Bay. When they arrived, police saw the suspect, later identified as Jerome Lake, sitting in his vehicle, according to VIPD reports.

Officers conducted a search and found a .22 caliber unlicensed firearm in Lake’s vehicle. Lake also admitted firing the random shots. His bail was set at $35,000.

While canvassing the area, VIPD officers found Frazer, Simon and Fleming hiding in the bush nearby, each with drugs in their possession. Their bail was set at $10,000 each. The suspects were remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.
