V.I. Police arrested 26-year-old Eliezer Martinez on Wednesday at 11:55 a.m., in the Sion Farm area of St. Croix in connection with a domestic violence assault.
Martinez was arrested at 11:55 a.m. for allegedly choking and causing visible injuries to an woman on Aug. 3, according to a V.I. Police Department report.
Martinez was charged with second-degree assault, according to the report. No bail was set per the territory’s domestic violence statute. He was remanded to the John Bell Correctional Facility, pending his advice of rights hearing on Friday at the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands, the report stated.
