In Memory of Steve Dawes

Editor,

There are people that you meet
Full of kindness and good cheer,
English Steve was one of these
Who chose to sail his boat in here.
He brought his bride
He made his home
They were like Family,
He fixed our cars
And lived under the stars
In his boat named “Equity.”
We loved to see his smiling face
When he was at the dock,
He wouldn’t miss the locals race
On Wednesday – four o’clock!
Each week we’d see him
Behind the helm
A happy man was he,
Enjoying every moment
Of his freedom on the sea.
And that is how we’ll remember Steve
Sailing out of Coral Bay,
We were fortunate to have
Our English friend
Stop here along his way…
