Commissioner Jean-Pierre L. Oriol of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources has announced that in accordance with the State of Emergency declared by Governor Albert Bryan Jr. as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the department will be implementing the following modified schedule until Aug. 31 or as may be extended by the governor:

All public libraries in the territory will be closed to the public.

Both Fort Frederik on St. Croix and Fort Christian on St. Thomas will be closed to the public.

Pick up, drop off and cashier services will be available to the public only on Tuesdays and Fridays during regular office hours 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please be reminded that the cashier closes at 3 p.m. Kindly adhere to the safety precautions established by the department with regards to submitting documents.

For in-person needs other than pick-up or drop-off services or for general information, call 340-774-3320 on St. Thomas or call 340-773-1082 on St. Croix to schedule an appointment with the appropriate division.

Also, on Monday, Aug. 17, all departmental offices located at that Charles W. Turnbull Regional Library will be closed to allow for a contractor to sanitize the building. Normal hours will resume at 8 a.m., Tuesday.
