Love City Show Girls To Host Easter Fun Day, Fundraiser March 22

The Love City Show Girls troupe is already gearing up for the St. John Fourth of July parade, with plans to host an Easter fun day and fundraiser for the troupe’s costumes and other supplies.

The troupe will host the fun day on Saturday, March 22, beginning at noon at the Pine Peace basketball court, and the community is invited.

Wrektion and Top News will perform live, and island youth can enjoy an Easter egg hunt and games with prizes for the kids, and plenty of food and drinks will be for sale. All proceeds from the day’s event will benefit the Love City Show Girls troupe.

“We’re having this day not only for us, but also for the community,” said troupe member Delrice Stevens.

It’s important for the girls to participate in the St. John Festival parade, and Stevens hopes other girls will come out and join the troupe.

“It’s our tradition, our heritage, and it would be nice if everyone could participate in the parade,” said Stevens. “That’s why we’re getting the community involved. If they see we’re doing positive things for the community, they might think about letting their kids join our troupe.”

The troupe hopes to get together throughout the year — not just during Festival time — for activities including trips, Stevens added.

The Love City Show Girls encourage all members of the community to enjoy the fun day and support their troupe.

“It’s going to be a fun experience,” said Stevens.
