Mae Louise Cecilia Williams

Mae Louise Cecilia Williams, beloved mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, died on July 5. 

Mae Louise was preceded in death by her father, Isaiah Williams; mother, Agnes Petersen Williams; sisters: Ivera Mingo, Carmen Frazier and Norma Wilson; nephew, Kareem Hansen; and godparents: Eugene and Antoinette Bennerson. 

 

She is survived by her daughters: Nataki Brown and J’Ana Brady; son, Roger Moore; brothers: Alfred Williams (Cecelia), Curtis Williams (Florice) and Franz Christian Sr. (Sonia); and nephews: Craig Williams, Andre Williams, Adrian Williams, Anthony Williams, Hakim Williams, Franz Christian Jr, Daryl Williams, Melbourne Williams and Reudell Mingo.

She is also survived by nieces: Patricia James, Marsha Williams, Marnie Williams, Mara-Lou Williams, Viyae Marie Nugent, Michelle Ballantine, Eurina Williams, Carla Baird, Carlene Williams, Kemba Martin, Ivorene David, Claudette Williams, Lorrayne Cocks and Janet Mingo; great nephews and great nieces too numerous to mention; and special family friend, Maude Roberts. 

 Other survivors include friends: Margaret Brown, Aileen Roebuck, Margaret Sumter, Ruth Lynch, John Brady, Marjorie Brown and all the ladies that she so dearly referred to as “The Sisterhood,” Sorors of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. – St Croix Alumnae Chapter, Mildred Senthill, Bernadine “Bernice” George, Gloria Joseph, Frederick and Amelia Joseph, David and Agnes Lang, St. Patrick’s Church family, former Gov. Kenneth Mapp, Delegate Stacy Plaskett and staff; and a host of other friends and relatives too numerous to mention. 

 

Tributes will take place from 9:30-10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:15 a.m., Friday, July 23, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Frederiksted. 

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to The Women’s Coalition of St. Croix.

 

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic and public health guidelines masks or facial coverings must be worn at all times.
