On Thursday, at 5 a.m., Criminal Investigation Bureau Detectives arrested Akeebo Thomas, 50 years old of Paul M. Pearson Gardens, and charged him with assault in the third degree, simple assault, and disturbance of the peace, reported the V.I. Police Department.
The male victim in this matter reported being at Paul M. Pearson Gardens when he was approached by a male who asked him, whether he had an issue with anyone in the area. Thomas interrupted and accused the victim of passing by frequently, watching him. The victim denied the accusation, asserting that he did not know what Thomas was talking about. Thomas then threatened to slap the victim the “next time” he looked at him. The victim reportedly left the area in a golf cart, with Thomas and the other male following behind on foot. Thomas retrieved a piece of mahogany wood and began striking the victim repeatedly, causing injuries, according to a police report.
Thomas surrendered himself to detectives on Thursday, after being informed that he was wanted. Thomas was turned over to the Bureau of Corrections, pending further court action, stated the report.
