Members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau apprehended 53-year-old Adrian Maranda and furnished him with a copy of his arrest warrant Friday. He was placed under arrest for unlawful sexual contact in the first degree, reported the V.I. Police Department.
On December 21, 2023, the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of a sexual assault on a 14-year-old female. Detectives of the Criminal Investigation Bureau assigned to investigate the matter made contact with the minor. She disclosed that Maranda engaged in sexual contact with her, by making her touch his private parts, according to the police report.
Maranda was booked, and unable to post his $60,000 bail, was transported and remanded to the John Bell Correctional Facility pending his advice of rights hearing set for Monday.
