A New Hampshire woman was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head on St. Croix Tuesday, the V.I. Police Department reported.
Around 6 a.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received a call of a gunshot victim in Estate Smithfield. When officers arrived at the scene they discovered the unresponsive body of a woman, according to the police report.
Emergency Medical Services personnel were on scene and found no signs of life. The woman sustained a gunshot to the head, the police report stated.
The next of kin was notified and identified the victim as 27-year-old Aliyah Dibartolemeo of New Hampshire, the report stated.
This case is currently unclassified pending the autopsy, police said.
