Operation Python Make Illegal Drug Arrest After Traffic Stop

On Thursday, May 12, 2022, a gray vehicle was stopped by Operation Python Officers conducting Traffic Enforcement at 4:14 p.m. on Weymouth Rhymer Highway in the vicinity of Carlos Furniture. The vehicle had no license plate, and the officers stopped the vehicle and observed an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

After a search of the vehicle was conducted, the officers found illegal narcotics (Marijuana) with a weight of 39.60 ounces (about 1.12 kg) along with several zip lock bags of cocaine with a weight of 1.06 ounces (approximately 30.05 g) inside a compartment of a backpack that was found in the backseat of the vehicle.

Mr. Kahreed J. Braithwaite, 35-years-old, was placed under arrest and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute crack/cocaine. Brathwaite was unable to post the $22,500 bail and was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections.
