The Easter holiday weekend has come to a close. For many Crucians, the camping began on Maundy Thursday, while others began setting up their campgrounds as early as mid-March. Crucians are known to take “glamping” to a whole other level with full appliances, platforms, and some would argue mini-homes along the sandy beaches and open fields across the 84 square miles on the island of St. Croix.
Though the tradition’s origin is unknown, threats of thunderstorms did not discourage the hundreds of families and friends that met with tents and coolers to enjoy the weekend-long camping.
