Bryan, Plaskett Push for USVI Inclusion in Congressional Infrastructure Bill

Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. met with several members of Congress Tuesday, lobbying for the U.S. Virgin Islands’ full inclusion in President Joe Biden’s $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill and other economic development initiatives to benefit the territory, according to a release from Government House.

Bryan met with South Carolina Rep. James Clyburn, who is the House Majority Whip, Tuesday. Bryan also reportedly met with Washington Rep. Suzan DelBene, who is vice-chairwoman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Connecticut Rep. Rosa DeLauro, who is chairwoman of the House Appropriations Committee, and Robert Edmonson, chief of staff to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

More meetings were scheduled for Wednesday, and Bryan returns to the territory Thursday, according to Government House.
