The Virgin Islands Police Department on Friday released the name of the previously unidentified victim of a shooting that occurred June 18 in Smith Bay on St. Thomas.

The victim was 24-year-old Yorbis Jesus Rico Alzura, a resident of Venezuela, the VIPD said. His death was part of a violent night on St. Thomas in which three men were killed in three separate, apparently unrelated incidents on the island.

At approximately 11:20 p.m. that evening, the 911 Emergency Call Center was contacted by a concerned citizen who reported hearing multiple shots being fired and a male down in Smith Bay.

Officers traveled to the scene and found two gunshot victims in the area.

The first male victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds about his body, and died on the scene. He was identified by family members as 42-year-old Camille W. King, Jr., police said.

The second male victim also suffered multiple gunshot wounds about his body. He was transported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center via ambulance for treatment, died of his injuries a short time later. He was identified Friday as Alzura.

A third man died in a separate shooting that night. At approximately 6:27 p.m., June 18, officers responded to a report of a man down in Estate Fortuna and found the body of 38-year-old Donald George of Estate Fortuna. In the third incident that night, a man was found injured by gunshot and treated at the Schneider Regional Medical Center.

Police urged anyone with information that could help detectives solve the crime to call 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-774-2211, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477 (1-800-222-TIPS).
