The Safety Zone has announced that Shelley Williams is their new Assistant Director in charge of financial and compliance matters for the agency.
In her new position, Williams will act as the Board of Directors’ representative in the management of funds and financial compliance matters in regard to all local and federal grants, private and public donations, fund raising and The Phoenix Resale Shop.
“I’m looking forward to working with The Safety Zone staff, board of directors, funding agencies and our coalition partners to improve relations and expand services to the community,” said Williams. “I’m a community-minded individual who has a passion for working with our youth. I’m dedicated to giving back to the Virgin Islands community and hope that my true sincerity comes through in my work and interaction with the public.”
Prior to joining The Safety Zone team, Williams owned the Cyber Zone and worked for Bank of America in its commercial division.
The Safety Zone, founded in 1994, is Love City’s abuse/neglect task force. Its mission is to provide direct services to battered women, their children and all victims of crime.
