St. Croix Man Arrested for Assault with Hot Coffee

An arrest warrant was executed and a St. Croix man has been arrested on assault charges, the V.I. Police Department reported.

On March 9, the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of an assault that occurred in the Christiansted Town area. Upon the arrival of the responding officers, it was disclosed that Clarence Nisbett burned the victim by throwing hot coffee in the victim’s face, causing injuries, according to the police report.

An arrest warrant was sought and obtained for Nisbett on April 20 for the charge of assault in the second degree, the police report stated.

50-year-old Nisbett was arrested Friday. His bail was set at $50,000. He was unable to post bail and was transported to the John Bell Correctional Facility pending his advice of rights hearing set for May 1, the police said.
