St. John Shade Project to Host Shade Brunch on Sunday, July 2

A sunrise over Virgin Islands National Park, St. John

It has been five years since ShadeScapes Americas donated 60+ umbrellas via the St. John Shade Project to island restaurants, schools and the Virgin Islands National Park Service after the 2017 hurricanes wiped out much-needed natural shade all over the island.

It is now 2023, and the beautiful island of St. John, fully recovered from the hurricanes (and then COVID!) has been completely hopping for years. To celebrate the 5th Anniversary of our project, the St. John Shade Project will be making donations and hosting “shade parties” all over the island for the next 10 days.

The St. John Shade Project is kicking off its 5th Anniversary Donation Tour by hosting a brunch at “Our Space” Community Park (Bev Melius’s incredible donation to the community of Coral Bay) on Sunday, July 2, from noon to 2 p.m. We would love to have you join us. Lisa McAlister asks that people please reply if they think they can make it so that she can be sure and meet you.
