St. Thomas Man Arrested After Ex-girlfriend Assaulted

A St. Thomas man was arrested Thursday after his ex-girlfriend identified him as her assailant, the V.I. Police Department reported.

The female victim stated that Kamoy Williams, 27, came to her residence on Feb. 2 to drop off their minor child. The victim said that Williams became upset and grabbed her by the hair and threw her to the ground, according to the police report.

On Tuesday, Williams voluntarily turned himself in and was charged with simple assault-domestic violence and disturbance of the peace-domestic violence. No bail was set and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections, pending his advice of rights hearing, the police said.

The case remains under investigation by the Domestic Violence Bureau. Anyone with information can notify the bureau at 340-774-2211, ext. 5534.
