Unmasking What’s Behind the Tint; Two Arrests Made

On Sunday, police conducted two traffic stops, one on Emile Milo Francis Memorial Drive and the other in the area of Vitraco Mall, where arrests were made, the V.I. Police Department reported. 

Te’Quori Lans, 23, had no front bumper on the vehicle, and the front windshield tint was below the AS1 Line.  Lans refused to step out of the vehicle after police asked several times, according to the police report. 

After officers observed Lans reaching for a bag, he was removed from the vehicle. A search was conducted and a firearm was found in the bag that Lans was reaching for. Lans was found to be in possession of an unlicensed firearm, the police report stated.

Lans was placed under arrest for possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of illegal ammunition, possession of a firearm within 1000 feet of a  Church, two counts of illegal transfer of license plates, and delaying and obstructing. His bail was set at $75,000. He was unable to post bail and was remanded to corrections pending his advice of rights hearing, police said. 

Also, on Sunday, VIPD conducted surveillance in the area of Vitraco Mall. Officers initiated a traffic stop where a search was conducted, the V.I. Police Department reported.

A large quantity of marijuana was located inside the vehicle, according to the police report.

Eljaiey T. Grant, 25, was arrested for possession of narcotics with intent to distribute, and bail was set at $7,500. Unable to post bail, Grant was remanded to corrections pending his advice of rights hearing, police said
