USVI Boys Junior (U-14) Team Competing at International Tennis Federation Event

The U.S. Virgin Islands U-14 (14 and under) Boys Junior Tennis Team is presently competing in the International Tennis Federation’s (ITF) 2022 North Central America & Caribbean Pre-Qualifying WJT Tournament.

The USVI National Junior Tennis Team:

1) Rohan Nelthropp, born on St. Thomas, currently living in Orlando, Fla., age 14, trains with Albert and John Richards, who are tennis coaches from the U.S. Virgin Islands.  John Richards won the Tennis Channel No. 1 Coach competition.  He trains with Stedman “Balyce” Anthony when on St. Thomas.

2) Yared Alfred, born and currently living on St. Croix, is age 14. He trains with Kevin Motta on St. Croix.

3) Ozzy Odum, born and currently living on St. Croix is age 13. He trains with Kevin Motta on St. Croix.

The travel coach is Laurent “Tippy” Alfred.

Federation/sponsor: The team was selected by and entered into the tournament by the Virgin Islands Tennis Association (VITA). In addition to sponsorship by the association, the team is also sponsored by the VI Olympic Committee.

The tournament is being held in San Salvador, El Salvador, from Feb. 21-26.

Day 1: (Feb. 21) 0-3 Loss to El Salvador in 2 singles matches and 1 doubles match.

Day 2: (Feb. 22) 3-0 Win against Puerto Rico in 2 singles matches and 1 doubles match.
