USVISA and FIFA Members Attend Digital Solutions Capacity Building Workshop in Miami

U.S Virgin Islands Soccer Association (USVISA)

Delegates from USVI Soccer Association and ten Caribbean Football Union member associations attended the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) Digital Solutions Capacity Building Workshop held in Miami Fla., July 12-14.

Over the three-day workshop, participants were familiarized with the International Federation of Association Football Connect Digital Platform.  The online platform is a Competitions Management System and is also used for player registration of all persons playing organized association soccer.

The FIFA Connect Capacity Building Workshop focused on the digitalization of football administration and player registration.

Subject matters covered were:

  • FIFA Connect Platform: A free online system for registering clubs, payers, coaches, referees and officials. Registration is encouraged at all levels, Grassroots, amateur and professional. The platform is used for all versions of football, including futsal and beach soccer. Each registered entity or individual is assigned a unique FIFA Id and electronic player passport.
  • FIFA Clearing House:  FCH centralizes, processes, and automates payments between clubs following an international transfer or first registration of a professional player.
  • FIFA Competition Management System: FCMS is designed for planning and scheduling competitions.  Allows MAs to manage competitions digitally.
  • Transfer Matching System: The use of TMS is mandatory for any international transfer (between two clubs belonging to different associations) of professional and amateur players (both male and female).
