V.I. Bar Association’s Moot Court Competition Scheduled For April

The Moot Court Planning Committee of the Virgin Islands Bar Association will host the 28th annual Virgin Islands high school Moot Court Competition in April.

Both rounds of competition will be held via the Virgin Islands Judiciary’s live-streaming platform. To view the competition, go to https://www.vicourts.org/media and click on the “Live Stream” icon at the time of the competition.

Students will be arguing from a hypothetical fact pattern issues addressing free speech under the First Amendment and whether a minor should have the right to disaffirm contracts within a reasonable time of reaching majority.

The district round will be held on Tuesday, April 5 at 10 a.m. The championship round will be on Thursday, April 7 at 10 a.m.

Community members wishing to support the Moot Court Competition, which annually pays $7,500 in scholarships to students in the Virgin Islands, can donate through the V.I. Bar Association website.
