William Cariño died on Sunday, April 3.
He is survived by his daughters: Patricia A. Cariño Gilbert and Margarita Nolasco; son, William Cariño Jr.; grandchildren: Anthony W. Gilbert, Kiana M. Gilbert, Jashira M. Cariño, Jenna, Robert, Lynette, Racari, Leslie Rogers; brothers: Anastacio “Tasin” Cariño Jr., Julio Cariño and Edictor “Tito” Maldonado; and sisters: Lucia Cariño, Nilda Cariño, Carmen Cariño, Daisy Cariño and Gloria Encarnacion.
He is also survived by nieces: Milagros Cariño, Lucy Cariño, Natacha Maldonado, Vanessa Hendricks, Lissete Booker, Crystal Rogers, Suzanne Corcino, Jasmine Maldonado and Jessica D’Paula; and nephews: Efrain Cariño, Eduardo Cariño, Orlando Cariño, Anastacio Tatin Cariño III, Ismael Cariño, Luis Luisito Cariño, Elias “Junito” Cariño Jr., Daniel Cariño, Raul Cariño, Hiram Maldonado Jr., Omar Ramirez, Cleve Hendricks Jr., Austin Cariño, Jesse D’Paula and Julio Encarnacion III.
Other survivors include in-law, Charles C. Gilbert Jr.; special friend, David Moquete; as well as other family and friends too numerous to mention.
A viewing will be held from 3-5 p.m., Thursday, April 28, at Divine Chapel, 129 Peters Rest, Christiansted. The second viewing will take place at 9:30 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, April 29, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 416 Custom House St., Frederiksted. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
