Virgin Islander and high school junior Rafael E. Hodge has been appointed to the national board of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.’s National Kappa League, a press release announced.

Hodge, a junior at West Cabarrus High School in Concord, NC, is a two-year member of the Charlotte Alumni Kappa League, according to the press release.

He was born on St. Thomas and began his early education at All Saints Cathedral School before transitioning to Antilles School, where he remained through the eighth grade before relocating to North Carolina in 2021, the press release stated.

Hodge is an active student, participating in the marching band, track and field, student government, and the National Beta Club. He is a participant in the ACE Mentor Program of Charlotte for students interested in architecture, construction and engineering and led his team to a Best Construction concept win in the 2022-23 program year. A student in his school’s International Baccalaureate program, he serves on the International Baccalaureate Executive Council or IBEX and is a member of the Black Student Union, the release stated.

“What I like most about Kappa League is the community we get to build with everyone in the organization. To be on the Kappa League national board is very important to me as I get to lead an organization that has been there with me for a long time,” Hodge said.
