Alfred James Roach Sr. Dies at 80

Alfred James Roach Sr.

Alfred James Roach Sr., also known as “Roach,” age 80, died on April 4 from natural causes in his home. He was born on Jan. 1, 1944, on Monserrat and later naturalized on St. Croix, U.S.  Virgin Islands.

He survived by his daughter, Dorette K. Roach-Simmonds and seven other children; son-in-law, Darwin Simmonds, also known as “Bug” or Canino; daughter-in-law, Beatrice “Chrissy” Louis; grandchildren: Celisha and Cenika Francis, Damalia and Dayla Simonds, Jahreem, Rashanya, Rashilo, Rihanna, Réyanna and Réyonce Roach, and other grands too numerous to mention; great-grandchildren: Malik Stewart, Cayden Wells and other great-grands too numerous to mention; and cousin, Lt. Gov. Tregenza Roach.

We would like to recognize his friends, Orlando “Bundy” Ortiz, Camille “King Derby”, Macedon, Attorney Jeffery Moorehead, Harold Francis, Bridget Frederick, Brenda Charles, Mrs. Lorraine Benjamin-Matthew, Ms. Marian of Alma’s Store and other friends too numerous to mention.

We would like to also thank Dr. Prasad and the staff at Primary Care PLLC, Continuum Care/ Hospice, Pastor Williams, Catholic Charities of the Virgin Islands Inc., Senior Citizens Affairs/ Human Services and Malcolm Trucking for their support and services.

He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
