Director Barbara Jackson-McIntosh informs the motoring public that as per Gov. Albert Bryan Jr.’s press conference on March 19, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) will be temporarily closed from March 23 to April 6.

As Gov. Bryan announced, drivers’ licenses and vehicle registrations will be extended for 60 days during this state of emergency; however, the community can take advantage of the bureau’s online vehicle registration process.

During this period, the bureau will waive the requirement for inspection for any customers that renew their vehicle registrations online.

If customers need assistance in setting up an account or for technical assistance, email the bureau at info@bmv.vi.gov or call the BMV offices at 713-4268 on St. Croix, 774-4268 on St. Thomas or 776-6262 on St. John.

McIntosh thanks the community for its understanding during this public health emergency. As the bureau receives additional information, the director will update the protocols as necessary.

For more information, contact the BMV at the numbers above.
